Angel Studios’ Inspirational Movie SIGHT Now Available for Digital Download

Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment announced that SIGHT will be available for digital download starting today.
“SIGHT tells the inspiring true story of Dr Ming Wang, an impoverished Chinese prodigy who flees Communist China to become a pioneering eye surgeon in America. When tasked with restoring the sight of an orphan who was blinded by her stepmother, he must confront the trauma of living through the violent uprising in his youth, the Cultural Revolution,” a synopsis of the movie reads.
Director Andrew Hyatt hopes his movie will inspire others to do good while also revealing that Christians can be at the cutting edge of technology and don’t have to give up their faith or their beliefs in order to be innovative.
“I would say for all young people to recognize that more than good looks, more than charisma, more than IQ or EQ, the most important ingredient to be successful is the grit and the tenacity to set sight for something and do the best you can,” Dr. Wang, the subject of the story told Movieguide®. “Do not define your success objectively; if something happened or not. Define your success subjectively; if you tried your best.”
“Many young people mistakenly think that science and faith don’t work together, SIGHT is telling us otherwise…We need to advance science and technology to improve the lives of people, at the same time, we can also protect life at the same time — science and faith do work together,” Dr. Wang added.
“We can make a case to our young people studying in colleges technology, artificial intelligence, ChatGPT, who say that, you know what, you don’t have to give up your science,” he continued. “In fact, you need to really study science to be really good at what you do. At the same time science gives you the tools, faith, for me as a Christian, faith in Christ gave me a purpose; what I’m going to use the tools for.”
SIGHT does a terrific job of teaching these lessons and helping audiences understand why it is so important that Christians are involved in the sciences. A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:
SIGHT is an inspiring true story with a strong Christian worldview. The movie extols faith, family life, prayer, hard work, and dedication to help others. The main character confronts the tragedy of his past, to better serve others in the present. Many flashbacks create some confusion and sometimes slow down the story’s momentum. Despite this, great writing, a remarkable story, strong acting, and likable characters make this movie a winner. There are some scary moments, however, including child-abuse, terrorism and beating. SIGHT also has adult thematic elements, a few light profanities, and a significant amount of whiskey drinking to help Dr. Wang forget his past. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.

The real-life inspiration for SIGHT, Dr. Ming Wang, recently shared how his faith gives him a purpose.
“It’s a surreal experience for any human being to have part of your life play out in front of you,” Dr. Wang told Movieguide®.
SIGHT, one of Angel Studios’ latest projects, “follows the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a Chinese immigrant who defies all odds to become a world-renowned eye surgeon. Drawing upon the grit and determination he gained from a turbulent uprising in his upbringing, Dr. Wang sets out to restore the sight of a blind orphan,” per their website.
