Rapper Has ‘Nightmare’ About Breaking Sobriety: ‘Not the Lifestyle I Want to Live’

Rapper and TV personality Angela White (formerly known as Blac Chyna) is sharing the details of her struggle with alcoholism.
“I thought, if you drink for like, two, three days straight, back to back, that that’s not an alcoholic,” White said while appearing on an episode of PIERS MORGAN UNCENSORED. “In my eyes, an alcoholic was, you have to wake up, you need a drink. ‘I need a drink. I need a drink.’”
She continued, “But when I would drink an alcoholic drink, I wanted another one, and another one, and another one, and another one, and it’s bingeing. So I had to come to the realization like, hey, maybe I am an alcoholic.”
White shared that, while she does not miss drinking “at all,” she does have nightmares about breaking her sobriety.
“I literally have a lot of nightmares, where I’m asleep and I’ve drank in my sleep, and I will wake up, like, ‘Oh my gosh, are you serious?’ Because it’s like, I’m not starting over,” she said. “Because I’ve started over. I would do, like, four months and then something happened. And I would start over and start over, do it again, do it again, and I would fail. So this time I’m like, I’m not going back to it. That’s not the lifestyle that I want to live.”
During an appearance on TAMRON HALL, White elaborated on her decision to stop drinking, saying, “What helped me was bringing myself down to reality and then realizing, like, ‘OK, am I hurting or helping other people around me?’ And helping not with money or things like that but I didn’t want to continue hurting the people around me or even have my kids grow up, seeing me doing this stuff.”

White has been open about both her struggle with alcoholism, as well as her sobriety journey.
“September 14 , 2023 marks my one-year of sobriety. This year taught me a lot about myself. I made up my mind on September 14, 2022 that I was done with the alcohol,” she wrote. “This process is not easy but I did it, I plan on continuing practicing sobriety.”
White continued, “I’m hoping that when you see this, this will inspire you if you are struggling with any addiction, just know that you can do it and you are worth it. God loves you. It’s so many different apps, and groups that can help you with this journey, and you’re not alone.”
Her journey of self-improvement has also led White to end her career as a model for raunchy platform OnlyFans.
