By Movieguide® Contributor
Anne Wilson released a “My Jesus Anniversary Deluxe” album on Friday, April 21.
She posted a live music video on YouTube where she sang, “My Jesus.”
“He makes a way where there ain’t no way/Rises up from an empty grave. Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save/Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus,” Anne sang.
Wilson soared to the top of the charts after she sang at her brother’s funeral. Now she’s the only female in the respected category, Best Contemporary Christian Album.
In addition, Wilson was nominated for a Grammy. She also won two awards at the GMA Dove Awards and K-LOVE Fan Awards.
Movieguide® recently reported on the singer’s recent success:
Christian music artist Anne Wilson never sang in front of anyone until she took the bold step at her brother’s funeral.
Now, she is a Grammy Award nominee.
“I just started to cry my eyes out, thinking about how far God’s taken me since losing my brother,” she stated.
Wilson and her brother were close. Although eight years separated them, they spent much time together listening to country music and driving through the winding roads of Kentucky.
“He was my best friend,” Wilson, told People. “He was such a kind person. He would never talk bad about anyone. He was the life of a party and always went out of his way to include people that were being left out. He was always that person that you could go to, and you just know that you could trust him. He was an incredible person.”
She continued, “One of my brother’s favorite songs was ‘Seminole Wind.’ My brother had this really cute country voice when he would sing. We would just always blast ‘Seminole Wind’ in the car,” she laughed. “It was the cutest thing.”
Wilson’s brother was tragically killed in a car accident in 2017. It was at his funeral that Wilson sang, “What a Beautiful name,” which then went viral. That performance changed the trajectory of her life, forever.
