Country Star Reminds Us Where Our Strength Comes From

Christian country singer Anne Wilson encouraged her fans that whatever difficulties they are currently facing in life, God is strong enough to lift them up and carry them through the pain.
“A rebel knows where her true strength comes from,” Wilson said. “2 Corinthians 12:10 says, ‘Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities and reproaches, in necessities and persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong.’ I love this verse because it’s a really good reminder that in this life that we live, we’re gonna go through hard things, but in the midst of that, that is where we find that our strength is in Christ.”
“That He is so incredibly kind enough to where in our moments of our deepest weakness, He meets us there with His great strength so that we can face whatever we’re going through in life,” the singer continued. “I wanna encourage you, maybe it’s a loss of a loved one, financial situation, divorce, whatever you’re facing right now in your life, God is your strength, and He’s gonna get you through whatever you’re going through.”
Wilson is no stranger to turning to God for support when facing immense pain. In 2017, her brother died, and she relied on Christ to get her through that time. The Lord was faithful, and she eventually launched her music career because of the death of her brother, allowing her to impact the faith of millions.
“I sang at my brother’s funeral for the first time in front of anyone and that was really the moment that I realized God was calling me to music, God was calling me to spread His name, to spread His love around the world,” Wilson told TBN in 2022.
“I didn’t know what capacity that would be [in] or what that would look like,” she continued. “But it’s so amazing to look back and see how God used the tragedy of losing my brother to start something so incredible and change people’s lives through my songs and my ministry.”

Anne Wilson, “My Jesus” singer-songwriter, recently shared how God used the tragic death of her brother in 2017 to launch her music career.
“Losing Jacob changed everything for me,” she said in a recent CBN interview. “I gained a new perspective on life that I had never had. I realized how short these years on earth are, that heaven is the final destination, heaven is where I want to work towards. I want to tell people about Jesus. I want to work as hard as I can to introduce Jesus to as many people as I can.”
Movieguide® previously reported on how Wilson grew closer to God through that difficult time: “Instead of turning from Him, we chose to walk closer to Him through that time,” she shared. “So I became on fire for the Lord and we just chose to trust Him. We saw the Lord do a lot of really incredible things and [He] was just so faithful and kind to me and my family and it was such a sweet season.”
“I had this passion all of the sudden to tell the world about Jesus,” she explained. “I didn’t want anyone to have to experience a loss and know that their son or daughter or wife or husband or whoever didn’t go to heaven.”
