Christian and country singer Anne Wilson is “honored and thrilled” to open for Morgan Wallen this summer.
“I’m so excited to be opening for @morganwallen this summer during his shows in Seattle, WA and Santa Clara, CA!!” she posted on Instagram.
Wilson is set to join Wallen’s tour for stops in Seattle and Santa Clara in July and August, respectively.
“If you know me, you know how much I love his music and artistry,” she continued. “I am so honored and thrilled for this opportunity!”
In an interview with Holler, Wilson shared that Wallen’s music was a major influence during the creation of her latest album.
“Morgan’s music was inspirational for me during the writing process of REBEL,” she said. “His honest lyrics, met with the incredible production, inspired me to dig deep into my record and the creation of it.”

Wilson’s REBEL saw the Christian artist go full country, but she continues to share her faith through her music.
“It was really life-giving as an artist; this album felt very free-spirited, like I can write about my faith, but also about different things, too,” she told Billboard.
Speaking about title track “Rebel,” Wilson said, “No one wanted to write the song. They were like, ‘How do we write a song called ‘Rebel’ when you are this five-feet, little sweet Christian girl who’s not a rebel at all?’”
“At one point, I had a song go to [Christian] radio and they said it was too country for them to play it, though the message was very faith-based. I remember being frustrated, as any artist would, but it fired me up to want to write this album,” she said. “A lot of the reason we called it ‘Rebel’ is I decided I’m just going to be who I am. I’m not going to change who I am to please Christian radio and I’m not going to change who I am to please country radio.”
