Ben and Erin Napier Celebrate 15th Anniversary: ‘Thank You, Lord’

HGTV stars Ben and Erin Napier recently celebrated 15 years of marriage and thanked God for bringing them together.

“I sometimes think of all the people in the world, and how the earth is just this tiny dusty speck in the universe. And somehow, we managed to find each other,” Erin posted on Instagram. “Thank you, Lord, for 15 years in a marriage that feels like home and comfort and assurance and strength and LOVE.”

“We are so lucky to have found each other young and grown up around each other, forming these identities. I love you, @scotsman.co?❤️,” she continued.

“Our anniversaries center around christmas trees,” Ben posted. “Y’all can swipe for some #waybackwednesday photos. Happy anniversary to the great love of my life. Thanks for doing this with me, @erinapier.”

Ben and Erin met at Jones County Junior College, and after just six days of dating, both knew they had met their future spouse.

“[Ben] and I met in our college yearbook room about the feature story we were writing about him,” Napier shared in 2019. “I was the design editor and for two years had noticed him, always the center of attention, everyone’s best friend, my biggest crush. December 8, we took photos for the yearbook. December 9, we went on our first date and he met my mama. December 10, we looked at the Christmas lights in Mason Park. December 13, we decided we would get married someday. It sounds crazy to you, maybe. But it makes perfect sense to me.”

Because the couple met when they were young, they have grown up together.

“We weren’t like two separate trees growing in the woods [but] you ever see two trees that got stuck together and then they just grew? That’s kind of how we are when I think of us in my mind’s eye. We grew up together and that makes me think meeting and marrying young, I think, can be a very good thing,” Erin told Us Weekly.

The couple shares two daughters, Helen, 5, and Mae, 2. The Napiers recently launched an initiative called Osprey to connect parents who want their children to grow up without a reliance on technology.

HOME TOWN couple Erin and Ben Napier have been very open about their stance on social media for their two girls. Now, the two have launched a new nonprofit organization, Osprey, that is dedicated to helping other parents keep their children off social media.

In an Instagram post initiating the new organization, Erin Napier wrote, “My friends parenting smart phone-free middle schoolers have had a brutal experience of seeing their child left out, even though research tells us social media is as addictive and destructive for developing brains as any drug.”

She continued, “This made me think: my kindergartener doesn’t expect to drive a car before she’s old enough. She doesn’t expect to own a house of her own before she’s old enough. If we build a culture in our home and school now where she doesn’t expect access to the entire world in her pocket until she’s much older, we can set her up for success. When the time comes, a simple phone that can just call and text will be great: in the same way she’ll ride a bicycle before she drives a car.”
