Bethel Music recently led the audience of THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW in worship as they performed their new song “The Church.”
“Our next guests are part of the Bethel Music Collective, a group of songwriters and worship leaders,” show host Kelly Clarkson said. “They’ve released dozens of albums, which has led to recognition at the Billboard Music Awards…give it up for Bethel Music!”
The group then launched into “The Church,” a track off their latest album WE MUST RESPOND.
“Every story of revival / every miracle we’ve seen / It’s a glimpse of what is coming, so by faith help us believe,” Bethel Music’s members sang. “And we know the day is coming when we will see Your face / Every knee will bow before You and every heart will say / Oh praise the Father, and praise the Son / Holy Spirit, come make us one” (lyrics via Genius).
Group member Jenn Johnson recently spoke to CCM Magazine about the new album, as well as “The Church,” which she leads.
“This is one of those songs I feel like I was born to write,” Jenn explained. “My heart has always been for the global Church. It was so special for me and our team to get to write this with dear friends from Passion City & Upper Room, who are such faithful leaders in their local churches. My prayer is that people would be reminded of the beauty and power that comes when we are unified together, Christ as the head, us as the body, all for the glory of His name.”
Referring to the album’s title, she shared, “We must respond when we think about His presence, His goodness, love, mercy, salvation, and the simple fact that we’re breathing, our hearts are filled with gratitude. He is our everything, and we can’t help but respond to Him and give Him our worship.”
Bethel Music posted about WE MUST RESPOND on Instagram, explaining that it “is more than an album title — it’s a declaration. It’s our commitment to live active, surrendered lives that reflect the glory of God.”
“This relationship of response is breathtakingly beautiful. We bring everything to the Lord — our joy and our pain, our victories and our struggles,” the band’s caption continued. “In moments of joy and triumph, our response is praise. But even in moments of brokenness, we are invited to draw near. This is who we are, and this is the privilege of responding.”
Bethel Music’s recent performance on THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW is a powerful example of the message the group hopes to spread around the world.
