By Jessilyn Lancaster, Managing Editor
Mona Garcea, a producer on TV shows including BIG BANG THEORY, MIKE & MOLLY and TWO AND A HALF MEN, signed on with Kingdom Studios, co-founded by Jon and Andrew Erwin.
“Creating entertaining, inspirational and uplifting programming for television is what I have been dreaming about and joining forces with Jon, Andrew, Kevin (Downes), and Tony (Young) at Kingdom is truly a dream come true,” Garcea said.
As the Senior Vice President/Head of Television, Garcea will identify and develop family entertainment with broad commercial appeal.
“As we launch our television division with Mona, we could not be in better or more capable hands,” the Erwins said. “She has been on the front line of producing some of the best loved and most successful series on television and she has been mentored by one of the most successful producers in the business. We could not be more thrilled or excited to welcome Mona to the Kingdom family.”
Kingdom Studios launched six months ago in partnership with Lionsgate. I STILL BELIEVE, based on the life and love of Christian musician Jeremy Camp, is the studio’s first project, due out in March 2020.
The Erwins are behind major faith-based projects including I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, MOM’S NIGHT OUT, WOODLAWN, and OCTOBER BABY, among others.
I CAN ONLY IMAGINE won the 2019 Epiphany Prize for Most Inspiring Movie at the Movieguide® Awards. WOODLAWN was also nominated for the 2015 Epiphany Prize.
Other upcoming Kingdom Studios projects include JESUS REVOLUTION, APOSTLES: RESURRECTION OF CHRIST and THE DRUMMER BOY.
