- Content: Blake Shelton Lands Role in Mark Wahlberg Movie—for a Price

Country star Blake Shelton has bid his way into a Mark Wahlberg movie.
Shelton attended the Power of Love Gala on Friday, May 10, which was organized to help “generate funds to enable the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health to find, fund and facilitate the most effective and innovative research, treatment and educational support programming for patients and their families affected by brain disorders.”
At the event, Shelton was honored for his philanthropic work and even landed a spot in a movie with Wahlberg after bidding $40,000 for the prize during the fundraising auction.
“I don’t know if you guys saw the auction earlier. This is maybe the last time I’m ever gonna perform country music. I’m a movie star now,” he joked with the crowd during his performance at the event.
According to PEOPLE, Shelton performed “Sweet Caroline,” “Ole Red” and “Sangria.” He also sang “Nobody But You” with his wife Gwen Stefani.
Stefani praised her husband and his philanthropic efforts.
“His heart is as big as his voice,” she said. “His talent is obvious and he lights up the room and brings a smile to everyone he meets that makes us all love him so much. So whether he’s supporting an important cause and organizations across the country, he’s an incredible person.”
Stefani continued, “He supports veterans. He supports children’s hospitals, food banks, supports people with disabilities, disaster relief efforts, wildlife conservation or local communities in need, Blake’s generosity is genuine and endless. His dedication to giving back and making a difference and using his platform for good, both publicly and behind the scenes is truly inspiring.”
At the event, Shelton also shared their Mother’s Day plans, revealing how Stefani’s sons adore her.
“You know what? I don’t have to, because her sons have been incredible. They’re like, no, no, no. We’ve already thought about it. We’re going to make breakfast for her,” he said. “I always can kind of just take a back seat and watch these boys. They do an incredible job spoiling her.”

The country singer is stepdad to wife Gwen Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 9.
He has previously spoken about his commitment to being a dad, telling PEOPLE, “If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I’m missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that’s our kids. This isn’t about me anymore and never will be again.”
