By Movieguide® Contributor
Blake Shelton shared that he loves making music a family affair and that he never wants to make another album that does not include a collaboration with his wife, Gwen Stefani.
“I don’t feel like I want to make a record without a duet with Gwen on it anymore,” Shelton told TODAY. “She’s my favorite person to sing with.”
Shelton, however, does not want to stop with only working with his wife. Stefani has three kids from a previous marriage that Shelton would love to work with as well.
“That would be a lot of fun. I know that that would be Gwen’s dream come true is to have, like, a band or something life that,” Shelton said.

While a family collaboration may be in the cards of the future, for now, Shelton is mainly focusing on just spending time with his family. He stepped away from his position as a judge on THE VOICE in 2023 so he could have more time with them on their ranch in Oklahoma away from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment world.
“We get away from everything [in L.A.], and we’re just us. It truly does feel different,” Shelton told Fox News Digital in March of 2023. “That’s where I feel the most comfortable, happy and safe.”
And while he and Stefani do not have any kids of their own, he takes his role as a step father very seriously, treating Stefani’s kids as his own and prioritizing time with them.
“I have a stepfather in my life who’s one of my heroes,” Shelton said. “I love my stepfather and I look up to him and he’s like a father to me, so I have a good inspiration in my life for how to do this and the kind of stepdad I want to be. And I take it very serious[ly].”
“The kids see me as a very important person in their life. [When they ask], ‘Why isn’t Blake here?’ I take that stuff to heart. I’ve made plenty of money, but you can’t buy time back. I don’t want any regrets,” he added.
