‘Blessing Upon Blessing’: Dave and Jenny Marrs Talk FIXER TO FABULOUS: ITALIANO

Dave and Jenny Marrs are taking their home renovation skills across the world for their new show FIXER TO FABULOUS: ITALIANO.
“Dave and Jenny journey to Italy’s Tuscan countryside from their hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas, to revitalize a grand villa for longtime friends,” a synopsis from HGTV reads. “The six-episode season documents the Marrs, who first visited Italy as newlyweds, as they execute a monumental restoration of the centuries-old property.”
The couple shared some details about the show in an interview with TV Insider.
“Overall, it was a stressful project,” Jenny explained. “If we were just helping our friends remodel their house in Italy, it would normally take two or three years. But we had a production schedule to meet. We had to try to get everything moved up quickly. That was the biggest challenge, trying to hit those production deadlines with an Italian crew.”
Despite the challenges the Marrs’ faced, Dave said they would do projects like this again.
“We love to focus on new projects and things outside of our comfort zone and do something different,” he said. “Europe for HGTV is an untapped market. I think to see us over there in Italy, Great Britain or anywhere doing a project, I would love to. It’s all ratings-based, so if a lot of people watch this, and it does well, we’ll see.”
He continued, “I think people will have a great experience watching the show and learning about an amazing culture. A lot of things I think America can learn from. Just some beautiful architecture, landscapes, and wonderful people. It was a good experience.”
Jenny also posted some thoughts about the project on Instagram, writing, “At the very beginning of this renovation, I prayed a simple prayer: ‘Lord, let this be a blessing and not a burden.’”
“And, now that we are crossing the finish line. I can look back and see how every single step has been covered in blessing upon blessing,” she continued. “Unbelievable memories were made, bucket list items were checked off and our family will forever look back on this season of life and know that we worked hard and sacrificed time and convenience but we gained experiences and lessons that will forever be etched into the fabric of who we are. And, I know this home will now serve as a blessing for all of the guests who enter in the coming years.”

The Marrs family is currently in Italy for a spin-off of their popular HGTV show called FIXER TO FABULOUS: ITALIANO.
“Dave and Jenny’s loyal fan base comes back season after season for their incredible Bentonville overhauls,” Loren Ruch, Head of Content at HGTV, said in a statement about the new show. “We can’t wait to showcase the Marrs as their fans have never seen them before, completely out of their element for a remarkable renovation set in the stunning Tuscan countryside.”
Marrs also spoke about FIXER TO FABULOUS: ITALIANO with Closer, revealing they’ll be working on a friend’s home.
“Our family and their family are very close, and we’ve known them for many, many, many years and it’s going to be a really fun, creatively challenging experience,” she shared.
