Bob Saget’s Widow Kelly Rizzo ‘Thanks God Every Day’ For Stepdaughters’ Support

Bob Saget’s widow Kelly Rizzo shared that her late husband would think she was “crazy” for joining the cast of SPECIAL FORCES: WORLD’S TOUGHEST TEST.
“He would have thought I was crazy. I mean, like, ‘What are you doing?’” she laughed during a Fox News interview. “Because there is no way he would ever have done anything like this. It just would have been way too out of his comfort zone.”
She shared that Saget’s daughters were very supportive of her joining SPECIAL FORCES, saying, “They were just really excited for me, and I kept them, you know, in the loop throughout the whole process. They’re just true angels on Earth, and I’m forever grateful for them.”
Rizzo has previously spoken about the support she has received from Saget’s three daughters from his marriage to Sherri Kramer.
“I can’t imagine not having each other through this painful journey,” she said. “They are true miracles and angels and the gratitude I have that we have each other is immeasurable. I thank God for them every day.”
As for the show, Rizzo continued, “This was less than a five-star hotel experience. Sleeping on a military green Army cot…he would have been like, ‘I can’t ever see myself doing this. How on Earth are you doing this?’”
SPECIAL FORCES sees the contestants compete with each other during training exercises overseen by ex-Special Forces operatives.
“He would have been very worried about me,” Rizzo said. “He would have not liked that we could not have talked for, like, the entire time that I was there. And then he would have been very proud of me. In the end, I know he would have been very excited and proud of me and, you know, just give me all the accolades.”
She posted about the experience on Instagram, writing, “I was one of 14 recruits who had the privilege of enduring treacherous conditions in New Zealand while training with the most elite special forces in the world to compete (against ourselves) in SPECIAL FORCES: WORLD’S TOUGHEST TEST on @foxtv- it was the most challenging, rewarding, most intense, and hardest thing I’ve ever CHOSEN to be a part of.”

Rizzo told People Magazine:
Each day is a mixture of remembering him as my sweet and adorable husband who was my best friend and did everything he could every day to make me feel loved and special… mixed with me remembering him as how the world saw him… a great comedian, a person who could bring out the best in people, and a man with a philanthropic heart who only wanted to help people…
The most comfort I have received is from Bob’s daughters. I can’t imaging not having each other through this painful journey. They are true miracles and angels and the gratitude I have that we have each other is immeasurable. I thank God for them every day.
