AMERICAN IDOL Top 20 contestant Breanna Nix is celebrating her faith by singing yet another Christian song — Lauren Daigle’s “Still Rolling Stones.”

The Texas native sang the song at the Aulani Disney Resort in Kapolei, Hawaii, Church Leaders reported April 17.

After Nix’s performance, judge Lionel Richie said, “You brought something into this whole competition. You have actually been leading in terms of just bringing more and more of your faith into being.”

“The first note out of your mouth was like a growl,” said Carrie Underwood. “We joined you in your moment, that beautiful big voice just overtaking everybody.”

Luke Bryan told Nix that her performance perfectly showcases her skills.

“The confidence that you embody, I mean, it was like watching when Adele is in her zone,” he remarked. “You truly owned that moment, and you never let off the gas from the start till the finish.”

Ahead of the performance, Nix said on Instagram, “Hawaii Sunsets are like no other. Thank you Jesus for this opportunity & this moment. 🥹😭”

At her audition, Nix sang Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel” and brought in her son, Emerson, who sat on Underwood’s lap during the performance while her husband played piano. When she said she’s “just a stay at home mom,” Underwood said, “Never say ‘I’m just a stay at home mom.’ You have the most important job.”

The performance brought Underwood to tears.

Nix has sung several faith-based songs over the last several weeks, but for this week’s Easter episode, other contestants joined in for “Songs of Faith.”

The episode featured performances from CeCe Winans, IDOL alum Roman Colins, Brandon Lake, Jelly Roll, the Brown Four and Richie.

Nix wowed the judges again with her version of Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain.”

“If there’s one word I could use to describe your time here with us, it’s ‘solid.’ Well done,’” Underwood told her.

“You know what was wrong with that performance? Nothing,” Richie said.

Bryan, thoroughly entertained, said, “I was captivated. Great job.”

On Thursday, Nix posted photos with the other contestants. “Hanging out on set of @americanidol with the best people ever! I’m so thankful for these new friendships!” she said. “…I’m truly so grateful for this opportunity and I give God all the Praise.”

On the Easter special, Mattie Pruitt also sang a Lauren Daigle song, “Rescue.”

Bryan was impressed but told her to make her words distinct when she sings. He told Pruitt, “You’re going through the star wash! That cry in your voice is so great — but make sure we hear every word.”

On Monday, she shared on Instagram, “I’m still reeling from last night — singing from my heart and meeting @cecewinans was everything. Thank you for the love and support!”

AMERICAN IDOL’s next episode, “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” will air on Sunday, April 27, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
