Gen Z Commentator Brett Cooper Explains What Young People Want From Media
By Movieguide® Contributor
Conservative commentator Brett Cooper is sharing her hopes for her new project THE BRETT COOPER SHOW.
“I wanted to be independent,” she said during an appearance on JESSE WATTERS PRIMETIME, referring to her exit from The Daily Wire. “I watched the media landscape change over the last couple of years, but especially leading into this election, and young people are just hungry for independent voices who are authentic and honest with their audiences. They don’t want to hear from traditional pundits 24/7.”
Cooper explained that today’s media landscape has made it possible for everyone to “have a voice,” whether it’s on social media, in videos or through the newsletter platform Substack.
“People have a voice in a way that they haven’t had, ever,” she said.
Cooper also shared her hopes for what THE BRETT COOPER SHOW will achieve with viewers.
“If I can change your perspective on who we are and what we believe and what we stand for, even if it’s not to change your mind or change your vote, but to make you have more respect for your friends who think differently than you, then I’ve done what I want to do,” she explained.
Cooper continued, “It’s just trying to reach across the aisle with nuance and empathy because I think that…things are changing. We saw that in 2024, and so, I think there’s a lot more progress to be made.”
She recently gave an inspiring speech at AmFest 2024, saying, “Our values, our faith, our families, are the bedrock of our lives, they are the constants that keep us grounded amidst the chaos. They are our anchors that remind us who we are and why we fight for what we do.”
“So when the world feels uncertain, when people let you down, remember that it is not these fleeting moments or fleeting figures that define you,” Cooper continued. “It is the legacy that you build through your actions, through your convictions, and through the love that you cultivate with those around you. That is the foundation of your life. That is what you should be investing in every single day.”
Cooper shared her excitement for what’s to come this year in a recent Instagram post, writing, “2024 brought me love and marriage, career milestones, lots of adventures, difficult decisions, and challenging lessons. Every bit of that made me better, stronger, and smarter, so I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
“Thank you to each and every one of you for your support, encouragement, and love,” she continued. “I can’t wait to keep building and growing next year, and I think you’ll all be very excited!”
