A Camera Bag Review from A Camera Guy
By Jeremy Carroll, Videographer
In the world of carrying packs, backpacks, strollers, shoulder bags and carrying equipment, one can never be too careful. The choices are endless, as are their different price points. Even so, as with most options in the ever-changing landscape of digital filmmaking, “you get what you pay for.”
Enter the Cineluxe Backpack 24.
My job as a videographer, at Movieguide®, has given me the opportunity to film some of the most talented people in the entertainment industry. Some days require multiple shooting sessions, ranging from red carpet coverage to sit down interviews. When running from location to location mobility is absolutely key. The Cineluxe Backpack 24 is perfect for being essentially a film studio on the go.
After packing my old camera shoulder-style bags with the usual gear: batteries, lav mics, several lenses, 2 Canon C100s, reflectors, gels and gaffer tape, the bag’s shoulder strap would dig into my shoulder after a day of shooting. That problem is a thing of the past thanks to the plush and supportive shoulder straps on the Cineluxe. I’ve always preferred a backpack style bag to a shoulder strap bag for ease of movement when carrying other equipment such as light stands or tripods.
In conclusion, the Cineluxe Backpack 24 is a welcome addition to my equipment lineup. Its large “doctor bag” mouth, huge carrying capacity, soft shoulder straps and rugged build quality ensure that my gear will be kept safe and easily accessible, no matter the filming scenario.
