By Movieguide® Contributor
The world of SUITS is growing.
NBC picked up SUITS: LA, the spinoff of the wildly popular legal drama, and has placed a series order.
“it’s time to suit up! ? #SuitsLA is officially coming your way on nbc and streaming on @peacock,” NBC announced on social media.
A synopsis of the spinoff series reads:
Ted black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.
SUITS: L.A. will star “Stephen Amell in the main role as Ted Black” as well as “Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg. Korsh will executive produce with David Bartis, Doug Liman and Gene Klein, all of whom were EPs of SUITS. Victoria Mahoney directed and serves as an exec producer on the pilot,” The Hollywood Reporter wrote.
Amell told PEOPLE of his excitement to jump into his new role: “I’m very excited. It’s something very new and different for me — talky-talky, not punchy-punchy.”
Fans are itching for their favorites from SUITS to return. Patrick Adams told Entertainment Weekly that he’s “ready to suit up again.”
Movieguide® reported on a possible SUITS reunion film:
Star Patrick J. Adams has teased the possibility of a SUITS reunion movie.
While at the ATX TV Festival, “a fan asked if the cast or creators would ever be interested in a reunion movie.”
Adams, who played the witty and extremely smart Mike Ross, answered, “I am a person of no power or authority, but obviously, there’s a SUITS: LA show that is being made. That is the focus of [creator] Aaron [Korsh], I think he would agree.”
“But it’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, in trying to get the band back together,” the actor continued. “So it depends on a million things if that can happen, but is it possible? I think it is possible.”
When asked if other members of the cast would be interested Adams said, “This band member is down.” Dulé Hill also confirmed his interest in reprising his role as Alex Williams.
