A recent episode of MASKED SINGER revealed who its Cherry Blossom singer is — Great American Family actress Candace Cameron Bure.
Cherry Blossom was revealed Wednesday after her first and only performance on the show, Variety reported. None of the judges guessed her real identity correctly, even though judge Robin Thicke and Bure go back for decades.
While in costume, she hinted that she was close with a former contestant.
“You could say we grew up together,” she said. “He taught me to not take myself so seriously. There was no one who made me laugh more.”
Next week is Boy Band night, and Bure was ready for it.
“I was looking forward to singing an NSYNC song, but that whole [clue] package was geared towards Robin, because Robin really was my first crush as a 12-year-old,” she told EW. “And he said it on the show, ‘I think we were boyfriend-girlfriend for a week when we were kids,’ and it’s true. And so I feel like he probably would’ve guessed at that point.”
Bure got asked to do MASKED SINGER four times before she finally agreed. Unconfident in her singing voice, she always said no due to nervousness.
Her FULL HOUSE “dad,” Bob Saget, went on the show in 2020.
“And yet, after seeing Bob do it, I mean, they asked me after that, but it really was so much fun to watch him. And I thought, if I don’t say yes, they might keep asking. And so either I’m going to just do this and make a fool of myself, or I’ll do it, get it over with, and they won’t ask me again. So it was fun.”
“Bob made the show so special to me. That was the first time I ever watched THE MASKED SINGER, and I had no idea he was on it. And I just saw this first performer come out, the Squiggly Monster, and I heard one note and I was like, ‘That’s Bob. It’s Bob. Oh my gosh.’ So yeah, it just connected me and endeared me to the show right away,” she said.

When Saget went on the show, Candace Cameron Bure hounded him with text messages. She wondered who would be sending her similar messages later.
“I feel like any of the girls from FULL HOUSE, if they watched it, I feel like if Andrea Barber or even Jodie Sweetin were watching, they should know that it’s me. They’ve heard me sing,” she said.
“Oh goodness, who else? It will be funny. I want to know if my mom and dad will know it’s me. I don’t know that they would guess. They’ve never really heard me sing before. So this will be put to the test when the episode airs,” she said.
Bure said she had a positive time on the show. Her big takeaway is that she “was brave.”
She said, “I was brave to say yes. I was brave to do it. And I’m proud of myself for that very reason.”
She told Variety, “I always tell my kids that if something they have an opportunity, but it scares them that they should do it because it’s a learning opportunity, and you can build confidence from it. I think I needed to take my own advice, so I finally said yes.”
