Candace Cameron Bure, Katy Nichole on Apologies, Kind Words: ‘Always Worth It’

This summer, singer Katy Nichole joined Cameron Candace Bure on the actress’s podcast to dive into the meaning behind Nichole’s music.

In a recent episode, they discussed her emotional song, “Things I Wish I Would’ve Said.”

Nichole shared that the “most important” part of her song is the chorus.

“Cause I love you and I miss you and I need you. I’m so sorry for the words I used to hurt you. Time keeps going by, but time just won’t let me forget all the things I wish I would have said,” she sings.

“I was very broken by seeing how many relationships are broken by like politics and really just like different disagreements,” Nichole said.

“If you say something that you shouldn’t have said, you should go back and apologize. The ‘I’m sorrys’ are always worth it. The ‘I love yous’ are always worth it,” she told Bure.

While many of Nichole’s songs focus on God, she emphasized that “Things I Wish I Would’ve Said” talks about human connections. She didn’t mention any specific person or experience that the song is about, but for Bure, it brought a special relationship to mind.

“You were talking about not letting that moment pass without telling someone that you love them and kind things about them or whatever words you want to share. And it often reminds me of my very good friend, Bob Saget, because he was also that person, and he always told you that he loved you no matter what,” Bure reflected.

Movieguide® previously reported Bure’s sentiments:

‘Since he passed over a year ago, it’s been a constant reminder on my mind, and when you have people like that in your life, you realize how valuable it is,’ Bure continued. ‘So, I’m grateful for that relationship to show me how much that means and that I can pass it forward.’

“Bure… played ‘D.J. Tanner’ on FULL HOUSE. Her TV dad, actor and comedian Bob Saget, passed away suddenly over a year ago in January 2022 at age 65,” ChurchLeaders.com stated.

A month after Saget’s death, Bure started a charitable endeavor in his honor. Entertainment Tonight reported that she made a line of sweatshirts with “Love like Jesus, Hug like Bob Saget” printed on them to raise money for the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

Movieguide® previously reported on the story behind Nichole’s song “By the Grace of God”:

Katy Nichole shared the inspiration for her song “By the Grace of God” during her appearance on Candace Cameron Bure’s podcast.

“I’m only here by the grace of God,” Nichole told Bure. “That was kind of the point of me writing this song was that’s a common phrase that we all use. The amount of times that I’ve been like, ‘You know what, the only reason I’m doing this is because [of] the grace of God.’”

“This song was really, truly about a redemptive story,” she continued. “In my life I’ve definitely seen a lot of redemption.”

Nichole recalled when she was so broken inside that she said and did things that hurt those around her.
