Candace Cameron Bure Says Jesus is the ‘Perfect Role Model’ For Our Response to Poverty
By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor
Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure shared on Instagram that poverty isn’t fair but Jesus is the “perfect role model” for our response.
Bure has teamed up with Compassion International to bring awareness to poverty and human trafficking during the season of Lent.
One of Bure’s most recent posts reads:
Poverty isn’t fair, but it’s ESPECIALLY unfair to girls. Abuse, trafficking, education discrimination, lack of access to proper feminine hygiene care products — these are all challenges that girls in poverty face just because they’re girls.
This year for Lent, I’m speaking up on their behalf. You can join me by signing up to receive daily text messages and weekly emails focused on the specific challenges that girls in poverty face, as well as how Jesus’ love serves as a perfect model for our response.
Bure and Naomi Scott (ALADDIN) have both worked with Compassion.
Other Christian non-profit organizations like World Vision, also aspire to end poverty around the globe with child sponsorships. Melissa Joan Hart and Patricia Heaton are just a few names who’ve lent their time to the cause.
