Candace Cameron Bure Says She’ll Quit Acting When This Happens
By Movieguide® Contributor
In a recent Instagram Q&A, Candace Cameron Bure revealed when she would consider quitting acting and beginning a different stage in her life.
“How much longer do you see yourself acting for?” a fan asked.
“Until I don’t enjoy it anymore,” Bure responded, adding, “But I don’t think that will be anytime soon.”
Bure’s continued love for acting is amazing, considering she became a Hollywood regular in 1987 when she landed a role on FULL HOUSE. She has appeared in 74 projects throughout her over 40-year career. Perhaps her continued love for her career comes from her decision to pursue faith-based movies and create projects that align with her values.
“I have to pinch myself daily when I realize that I’m living my dream of making family and faith centered movies,” she wrote in March. “Being the executive producer for this wonderful film JUST IN TIME was such a blessing.”
Bure’s ability to create work on these projects was greatly boosted when she made the bold move in 2022 the leave Hallmark for the budding Great American Family (GAF) network. The move paid off as GAF has become one of the largest networks in the business after growing at an amazing rate.
“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them,” Bure said in November of 2022. “I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”
She has brought her expertise in Christmas movies to GAF to help its holiday initiative, Great American Christmas, produce dozens of high-quality Christmas movies in the three years since they started. GAF CEO and founder Greg Abbott credits Bure for much of the network’s success.
“Candace Cameron Bure has a knack for finding beautifully crafted, meaningful stories that she and her team nurture into great family films,” Abbott said last March.
Hopefully, Bure will continue to find joy and purpose in moviemaking for decades to come as her projects continue to uplift and encourage millions of viewers.

Candace Cameron Bure and Bianca Juarez Olthoff are discussing the importance of the legacies we leave behind.
“We usually associate legacy with wealth, but legacy is so much more than that,” Olthoff explained on “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.” “Legacy is what we leave in our wake for the next generation. What people don’t understand is that we are leaving a legacy, whether we realize it or not.”
Bure also shared her thoughts, pointing to the impermanence of her work in the entertainment industry.
“At the end of the day, who cares? Who cares what awards I’ve won? Who cares how long my resume is? Nobody’s going to remember,” she said. “But the lasting impact that this podcast maybe has because we’re talking about Jesus, that’s the legacy I want to leave.”
