Caros PenaVega Wonders How Dinosaurs Fit into a Biblical Timeline

Carlos PenaVega, Keenan Clark and Mark Samuel Evans just launched the “Truth Be Told” podcast, and they kicked things off with a controversial Bible question: how do dinosaurs fit into the Biblical timeline?
“I get asked so many questions in my life about my faith, and I don’t have the answers,” PenaVega began. “Can you explain to me when it comes to this, about dinosaurs? Come on, my kids ask me every night.”
“Easy, they drowned in the flood,” Clark, an evangelist, joked.
“Don’t they say it’s like 20 billion years or something like that?” PenaVega asked, referring to the evolutionary perspective on the age of dinosaurs based on the fossil record.

Clark offered a very profound point on the matter.
“Think about this: When Adam was one second old, how old did he look? God breathes him into existence. He would have looked like a grown man, but he’s two seconds old,” Clark said. “So couldn’t God form an earth, it appears as though it’s been here this long, but God made it instantaneously inhabitable for creation.”
Evans chimed in with the point that the whole scheme of the devil is to get us to question what God has already said.
“The whole point of the enemy’s lie in the garden is ‘did God really say?’ And the whole fall of humanity it built upon that absolute lie that is a cancer to our mind, our heart,” he said. “Because if I can undermine the inerrancy of the Word of God, if we don’t get that foundation right in our heart, ‘did God really say’ will run rampant, and we’ll fall into all sort of deception.”
He’s referring to Genesis 3:1 which says, “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?’”
Posing this question caused Eve to second guess what God told her, and because she and Adam choose to follow the serpent’s advice rather than obeying God, sin entered the world. The devil is using the same tricks today. But while questions about dinosaurs and the creation story will always be up for debate, we can know for certain that what God has said is true, and we can rest in that.
