By Movieguide® Contributor
Country singer Carrie Underwood and her family are safe after a fire broke out at their Tennessee residence.
The “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” singer’s garage caught on fire Sunday, June 16, around 9:40 p.m. Eight different fire crews were dispatched and successfully put out the flames before any further damage could occur. Underwood, her husband Mike Fisher, her two sons Jacob and Isaiah, and their pets are all safe.
The Williamson County Fire Rescue shared the news to Facebook with a picture of a firetruck and part of Underwood’s home.
“At 9:42 Station 21 was dispatched to a fire alarm in their district,” the post began. “Almost immediately the call was upgraded to a structure fire. Crews from all eight of our stations responded. Fairview fire provided a tanker and crew as well. Upon arrival, 1401 found flames coming from the garage. Crews were able to knock down the fire quickly to prevent spread into the house. Firefighters continue to put out hotspots to prevent further spread. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There are no injuries at this time.”
Underwood and her husband hold tight to their faith in God.
Movieguide® previously reported on an interview with the couple:
“First and foremost is our faith. We know God brought us together and trust his judgment,” Underwood said. “And then just finding, kind of, ways to compromise through it. One of the compromises when I wouldn’t have beef and I would shoot all of my meat with a few exceptions to that, but that’s kind of one of the things that we’ve worked on.”
“You know, we’ve been as the world sees it, blessed with a lot of things and doing what we love to do, and money, and fame. But there is no true happiness in the things that everyone sees that should be great with us apart from a real relationship with God and with Jesus,” Fisher added.
