Carrie Underwood will perform songs from her first Christmas album for an HBO Max holiday special.
The 11-song album, titled My Gift, is available today, but fans will have to wait a bit longer to hear Underwood sing the songs live in the special.
Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max, said, “Carrie Underwood is a multi-faceted talent and we are thrilled to be partnering with her and our friends at Playtone to bring a dose of holiday cheer.”
Underwood shared how the album impacted her, saying she was “thrilled” to share it with the world.
“The journey of writing and recording this album started last year when I finished my tour and we could have never anticipated the circumstances we would be in this year,” the country star said. “Creating this album has been good for my heart, and I’m thrilled to get to share it with the world and to bring it to life with Playtone and HBO Max.”
The special is set to hit the streaming service sometime this holiday season.
Movieguide® previously reported on Underwood’s announcement of the album, where she released the track list that contains many songs that honor God.
“For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this,” she said. “Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters.”
Most recently, the mother of two was honored at the ACM Awards, tying for Entertainer of the Year with fellow Christian and country star Thomas Rhett.
“Thank You, God, so much. All glory, glory to God,” she said during her acceptance speech.
