Chandler Moore Addresses Absence From Maverick City, Teases New Music
By Movieguide® Contributor
Chandler Moore has commented on his absence from Maverick City Music, the worship collective he co-founded in 2019.
“The last five years have been very intense,” Moore said in a recent Instagram video. “This journey has had its ups and downs took. I took some time away to focus on being a better father and husband.
He continued, “If I were to call it an evolution of what people know me as, I feel like I would be cheapening what God has really done in me. I believe the music I’m working on now is really honest, and it’s going to free a lot of people.”
Moore has stayed out of the spotlight for the last six months, scrubbing all posts from his social media accounts and not taking part in Maverick City Music’s latest singles.
Many fans are wondering if Moore’s hiatus from the group is permanent. He did not provide a concrete answer, ending his Instagram video with, “The question of if I am leaving Maverick City is a real question.”
In another post, Moore announced a series of live shows in Los Angeles, writing, “Thank y’all for all the love & support. I feel it & now I’M READY TO SEE MY PEOPLE. Pull up in LA. 2 nights. New songs. MAY 20&21. There’s a lot to thank GOD for and I want y’all to be apart.”
In addition to his music career, Moore has been focusing on his home life. He shares 2-year-old daughter Krue and son Preston, 10 months, with wife Hannah.
“Watching you be a father is one of my biggest joys,” Hannah wrote in a Father’s Day post last year. “The ways you make them feel special, the sacrifices you make just for them, the way they look at you w/ such amazement and love. Your love for your kids is very evident. Everyone can see it, those that know you and those that don’t.”
Movieguide® previously reported on the couple’s first pregnancy announcement:
Maverick City Music’s Chandler Moore and his wife Hannah are welcoming a baby to their family.
“Hannah made my world better and I can’t imagine life without her. Now God is showing his goodness to me again through our new baby,” Chandler says.
The couple, who has been married since July 2021 are expecting their first child later this year. Both Chandler and Hannah shared the joyous news on their Instagram accounts with the same beautiful photographs showcasing their relationship. Fellow Christian artists Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Tye Tribbett, Priscilla Shirer, and Cory Asbury were among those offering their congratulations and best wishes.
Baby Moore will make Chandler a dad for the third time, joining siblings Chandler II and River, but this will be Hannah’s first.
“Being pregnant with my first baby is surreal,” Hannah says. “Pregnancy is a beautiful journey and I’m so thankful I get to experience everything it comes with.”
