Apple TV is bringing the iconic Charlie Brown holiday cartoons to viewers for free this holiday season.

A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS will be available from Saturday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 17.
PEOPLE reported that Apple TV+ subscribers already have access to the cartoons.
A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS debuted in 1965, followed by IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN in 1966 and A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING in 1973, all airing on CBS.
The three cartoons later joined ABC in the early 2000s.
As part of their holiday special line-up, Apple will also release THE VELVETEEN RABBIT, which airs Wednesday, Nov. 22.
Apple TV+ Press reports, “Based on the treasured, classic children’s book by Margery Williams, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT celebrates the magic of unconditional love. When 7-year-old William receives a new favorite toy for Christmas, he discovers a lifelong friend and unlocks a world of magic.”
FROG AND TOAD CHRISTMAS SPECIAL will debut on Dec. 1. “Frog and Toad are looking forward to spending the winter holiday together, but a last-minute errand into town sidetracks Frog, causing Toad to wonder if his best friend will make it home in time,” a summary reveals.
In THE SNOOPY SHOW CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, “Snoopy searches for the perfect tree topper; Woodstock gets trapped in a window display, and Snoopy and Woodstock visit Spike for Christmas.” It also premieres on Dec. 1.
SHAPE ISLAND WINTER SPECIAL lands on the platform on Dec. 1. Based on Mac Barnett’s books, the special follows Square, Circle and Triangle. “The chilly season leaves Square feeling sad, so Circle and Triangle try to cheer him up by creating a new holiday: Yeti Night,” Digital Trends reports.
Apple TV + is currently $6.99/month after a 7-day free trial.
Part of Movieguide®’s review for A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING reads:
Even though it’s a cute little entertainment, A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING also gives children a profound lesson about the history behind Thanksgiving. Even better, it teaches us all that we should be thankful to God for what we have. The program’s voice work and animation are just as wonderful and winsome as the positive messages. A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING is a great movie to watch with the whole family during Thanksgiving.
Movieguide®’s review for A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS reads:
A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS contains much of the wonderful spirit of the PEANUTS comic strip created by Charles Schultz. The music fits the onscreen action to a tee, and the animation is priceless. The voice actors are perfect. The animated short has many Christmas carols and stresses the value of serving others during Christmas. A few times, characters call each other stupid, and Lucy and Snoopy get into a tiff, but these elements are comical and don’t cast a shadow on the sweet story. Best of all, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS has a very strong Christian, biblical worldview that focuses on celebrating the birth of Jesus.
