By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor
Christian couple Chip and Joanna Gaines chose to honor local artisans despite announcing the cancellation of their “Spring at The Silos” event.
Joanna said on Instagram, “Chip and I are deeply saddened that this year’s event won’t go on as we’d hoped and are just so sorry that the decision to cancel had to be made. For the next three days we’re going to be highlighting each of the amazing artisans and shop owners who make this event so special on our blog and stories”
“Spring at The Silos” is an annual event at the Gaines’ Magnolia property in Waco, Texas. The home improvement duo’s decision comes from the preventative measures concerning the spread of the coronavirus.
In addition to local vendors, the events hosts performers, like the popular Christian singer Ben Rector, among others.
Still, the Gaines’s are doing all they can to honor their ticket-buyers and reimbursing them.

Joanna took to her Instagram to share how kindness in the midst of chaotic waters can usher in beauty.
Joanna said, “When we lift our heads, quiet the chaos, and look around us, we can see the good, feel the good, and then be the good for someone else. Thank you to everyone who has shown us grace this week and supported our amazing vendors. Kindness is the simplest yet most extravagant gift, and it has the power to turn a difficult circumstance into a beautiful opportunity.”
Joanna and Chip are also gearing up for the launch of their family-friendly network, also titled Magnolia.
