Chris Hemsworth’s Wife, Elsa, Says Their Marriage Is ‘Not Easy’ and Requires ‘Constant Work’

Chris Hemsworth’s wife, Elsa Pataky, opened up about the couple’s marriage and struggles as they near their 10-year wedding anniversary.
Pataky talked to Australian magazine body+soul, where she said, “It’s funny that people think of us as a perfect couple.”
She added, “No way. It’s been ups and downs, and we still keep working at the relationship. I think a relationship is constant work. It’s not easy.”
However, the struggles they’ve faced have only made Pataky and Hemsworth grow stronger together.
“I always try to see the positives of things,” she said.
The Spanish actress admitted to Vogue Australia in 2018 that she doesn’t know how she and her husband made it through their first few chaotic years of marriage. Soon after the couple married in 2010, Hemsworth starred in THOR.
“We did everything very quickly—I don’t know how we survived as a couple,” Pataky said. “We were married and then a year after, we had kids. It puts a lot of pressure on a marriage, but we came out good because there is a lot of love between us and we are very strong personalities but love each other so much. We make it work.”
Since then, Pataky and Hemsworth have had three children together. THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS actress said that being a mom is “the hardest but greatest job in the world.”
When the children were younger, she knew she wanted to put the brakes on her acting career.
“I really liked being with the kids. I wanted to take them to school and pick them up every day. I just love that moment. “
She added, “I didn’t grow up with my parents [around] and I missed that so much, so I wanted to give that to my kids.”
But although being there for her kids is her main priority, she hasn’t stopped acting all together.
“I love acting, but having balance is important to me. So, if something comes along that fits into my life and lets me work close to home, then I’m happy to do it,” she said.
Hemsworth, though, stays busy.
