Chris Pratt Talks Best Advice From Father-in-Law Arnold Schwarzenegger

By Movieguide® Contributor

JURASSIC WORLD and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY star Chris Pratt is sharing the best advice he’s received from his father-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“Not everyone can say that their father-in-law is the Terminator, but mine literally will terminate me,” Pratt joked.

In all seriousness, Pratt said in an interview with Extra, “He has the experience of raising kids in the spotlight and being an actor, a well-known person, and a celebrity. It’s really great to have the wisdom of his experience to go to and to talk to about certain things that normally I would talk to my brother or my cousin or people that I grew up with and they might not be able to relate with certain things.”

Pratt shares daughters Lyla, 3,  and Eloise, 1, with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt. He also shares son Jack, 11, with ex-wife Anna Faris.

“So with him, it’s been a real blessing to have someone that I can turn to and ask questions,” he added of his father-in-law. “I’m telling you he is a smart, articulate dude, and he’s got a really great point of view and it has definitely enriched my life.”

Career-wise, Schwarzenegger has shown Pratt how to “sell himself.”

“Nobody ever sold a movie like him…He knows how to sell himself…He’s a one of kind,” Pratt said. “He is a GOAT, a legend, and there will never be anyone like him again.”

Schwarzenegger is grateful to have Pratt as part of his family.

“He’s a fun guy to talk to,” he told Jason and Travis Kelce on the “New Heights” podcast.

“I’m really happy that my daughter has found him,” he continued. “And that he has found her…they found each other. Because they fit really well together, and they just look wonderful together. They’re so in love with each other.”

Pratt is getting ready for the release of his new film THE GARFIELD MOVIE, which opens on May 24.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Pratt recently plugged the movie, alluding to Garfield’s aversion to Mondays. “Well this Monday officially doesn’t suck!! Dun dun duuuuuun… the Garfield OFFICIAL trailer is here and it’s better than I could have imagined!! Can’t wait for you all to see the movie… coming soon,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Samuel L. Jackson voices a character called Vic, and Vic is this really scruffy outdoor cat and you of course got Garfield, who is this lasagna-loving, Monday-hating indoor cat,” Pratt said of the film. “He meets Vic and unexpectedly it’s his biological father, and he’s swept up in this epic outdoor adventure.”

“It’s got a lot of heart, man. It is one of those movies that will really pull at your heartstrings and the relationships are pretty profound and moving,” he added.
