Chris Tomlin Brings ‘Worship Under the Stars’ — He Explains Why
By Movieguide® Contributor
Chris Tomlin revealed his “Worship Under The Stars” tour which will take place exclusively in outdoor venues with an open view of the sky.
“One of the things I love about worship is it causes us to lift our eyes off of ourselves for a minute — to remember the goodness of God, the greatness of God, the mercy of God, the power of God,” Tomlin wrote on an Instagram post announcing the event. “Especially when we’re in His creation. You lift your eyes, you see the stars, you see the beauty of God’s creation around you, and you’re reminded of His goodness in a time where I feel like we need it more than ever.”
The event will take place over three nights — the first on July 11 in Central Park, New York City, NY; the second on July 12 on Pier 6, Baltimore, MD; and the third on Oct. 21 at Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, CO.
“I am so excited to announce and invite you to ‘Worship Under The Stars,’” Tomlin wrote in another Instagram post about the event. “Three hand-selected destinations, three unforgettable nights!! Together we will get to worship with the beauty of the mountains, the serenity of the sea, and the striking nature of the city as our backdrop!”
Tickets for all three cities go on sale this Friday.
Tomlin has long made his concerts noteworthy. For example, for the past three years, he has hosted a “Good Friday” concert that features many of the hottest artists in Christian music. Last year’s concert broke an attendance record at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville after modifications were made to include more seats after major demand.
