Chris Tomlin Sets ‘Good Friday Nashville’ Concert Attendance Record

By Movieguide® Contributor

For the third time, Grammy award-winning artist Chris Tomlin has set a new attendance record at the Bridgestone Arena for the largest ticketed Christian concert.

Tomlin’s “Good Friday Nashville” concert reached a record of 15,889 people on Friday night.

Per The Christian Beat, “Earlier this month to accommodate demand, production modifications were made to add more seats for the record setting event. The annual event began in 2017 and has continued each year, including virtually through a worldwide stream during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.”

The concert featured guest appearances from singers Lainey Wilson, Anne Wilson, Cody Carnes and Kari Jobe and a message from DUCK DYNASTY’s Willie Robertson.

Tomlin is grateful for the concert and thanked the fans for attending.

“All over the earth this past weekend the church gathered to remember the cross and to celebrate the hope of the resurrection… life over death,” he said. “Thank you to everyone who joined us for Good Friday Nashville locally and to those who joined us digitally worldwide. Thank you to the large team who made this record breaking night happen. To Anne Wilson, Kari Jobe, Lainey Wilson, Cody Carnes, and Willie Robertson thank YOU for giving your time and talents to make Good Friday Nashville an impactful night of worship and remembering. God was truly present.”

The singer reflected on the event’s impact on Instagram.

“I am not sure there are words to describe how powerful our 8th Good Friday was… thank you to every single person it takes to make something like that happen,” Tomlin wrote. “God was truly present last night…I hope you will join us next year here in Nashville.”

Movieguide® reported on last year’s “Good Friday Nashville” concert:

Chris Tomlin’s 7th annual Good Friday Nashville concert will reach a global audience this year, streaming on YouTube and Facebook.

“There is a passage in Hebrews 13 that I return to when I think about this night,” Tomlin said. “It says, ‘Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.’”

“That truly is the heart of Good Friday Nashville,” he continued, “for all streams of the church to come together, celebrate what God has done and is continuing to do in our city, and then give back to those most vulnerable in the community.”
