Christian Band The Afters Declares ‘God is With Us’ in Latest Single

Christian band The Afters answers the question “Where is God?” through their latest song, “God is With Us.”

“Through all the years that we’ve toured as a band, we’ve heard people share their stories of brokenness and loss, and one question that we’ve heard again and again is ‘Where is God in this story?’” lead singer Josh Havens shared, as reported by CHVN Radio.

“I believe God isn’t afraid of our questions,” he continued. “Our loss, our hurt, the hard things we go through…those things are precious to God. And he has promised to be with us in every single moment of our life. He’s not going to leave us, he will never forsake us, and that’s where we can find the hope we need during our hardest times.”

The chorus of the song says, “He is right here where He’s always been. He never left and He never will. Where is God? God is with us. He is right here where He’s always been. It’s where He’ll be until the very end. Where is God? God is with us.”

“We hope our new song ‘God is With Us’ encourages you no matter what you’re going through right now,” the lead singer said enthusiastically.

Havens shared a video on The Afters Instagram and wrote, “I’m all dressed up in Iowa for a relative’s celebration of life…but wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts about the new song we’re releasing tomorrow. No matter what we go through…God is with us!”

“Most of us have asked, at some point, the question, ‘Where is God right now?’ ‘Where’s God in this situation?’ ‘Where’s God in the middle of this really hard thing?’” Havens said in the video.

“I hope this reminds you that when we are hurting, when we’re grieving, when we’re going through something hurtful, God is with us. When we’re discouraged, when we’re hopeless, when we’re broken, God is with us. When we’re struggling, when we don’t see a way forward, when we’re doubting, God is with us. And whatever you’re going through right now, God is with you,” he concluded.
