Christian Huff’s New Devotional Combines Spiritual, Physical Training

While social media has put intense emphasis on looks and aesthetics within workout culture, Christian Huff is fighting to keep people focused on Christ while they take care of their bodies.
“The whole gym culture and fitness has become such a thing in our world just because of social media,” Huff said. “But even backing up, if you look back to, you know, Arnold Schwarzenegger and bodybuilders in the past, like, it’s always been a thing.”
“I think now it’s more prevalent around younger people just because of social media, because of TikTok, because of Instagram, maybe even Snapchat, all these other things. It’s so easy to see other people, to follow along…their journeys and…their routines and really just their things. And, you know, I think some of it can be good, but I think a lot of it’s just breeding idolization,” he continued.
To combat this, Huff created a men’s ministry that focuses on bringing fitness back into a direction that honors God. His organization is founded on 1 Timothy 4:8: “Physical training is of some value but godliness has value for all things, promising benefits in this life and the life to come.”
“So much in the fitness industry, just from what I’ve seen, it’s so idolizing. It’s so worldly. It’s so…aesthetics driven, and I really just want to go against the norm of that,” Huff said. “Yes, it’s fun to work out, it’s fun to look good, you know, take pride in the hard work that you’ve done. But we’ve made an idol on how to look good…it’s all about what you look like and it’s not always all about what you look like, which is why I stated this.”
“[Working out] is of some value, but godliness, but spiritual training, but your relationship with Jesus, that is what’s of every value. It’s thinking about how you can train yourself spiritually while you’re also training yourself physically,” he added.
To address this issue, Huff has developed workout plans that combine exercise with devotionals. These plans can help men train physically while keeping their focus on what truly matters: their relationship with the Lord.
“Christian Huff harnesses his passion for faith, family, and fitness to help you train physically and spiritually,” his website reads. “Join the community of 4:8 Men, and be encouraged as we work together to live a life worthy of the one God calls us to.”
Christian and his wife, Sadie Robertson Huff, are all about fighting lies spread by social media and helping people refocus themselves on godliness.

Former DUCK DYNASTY star Sadie Robertson Huff and her husband Christian Huff opened up about marriage and what to look for in a spouse during a recent conversation with Movieguide®.
“Christian said to me, ‘Never apologize for what God is doing in your life,’” Sadie said. “I just love that, like it shifted my mind and then the things he said in that conversation were just so good. But he was really just leading me to God and being confident in my relationship with God. So find a man who can lead like that and leads you to Jesus.”
Christian added, “I think someone who is very genuine, someone who’s authentic, someone who does love God more than people.”
“But for a guy listening, we’re growing up in a culture and society where so many things are filtered with social media. With all these different things it’s so easy to filter things and to make something look the way that we want it to look. I just think that can be dangerous. I think we can get in that mentality of ‘I’m just gonna fake it until I make it,’ kind of thing…If you try to be somebody that you’re not, then you’re gonna have to keep up that reputation for forever,” he continued.
