Christianity Is Declining in America

The number of Americans identifying themselves as Christian has declined in recent years.

A 2014 survey by the Pew Research Center of more than 35,000 Americans found that “the percentage of adults (18 or older) who describe themselves as Christians has dropped by nearly eight percentage points in an equally massive Pew research survey in just seven years, from 78.4% in 2007 to 70.6% in 2014.

“Over the same period, the percent of Americans who are religiously unaffiliated – describing themselves as atheist, agnostic or ‘nothing in particular’ – has jumped more than six points, from 16.1% to 22.8%.

“And, the share of Americans who identify with Non-Christian faiths also has inched up, rising 1.2%, from 4.7% in 2007 to 5.9% in 2014.”

Beliefs of Churchgoing Millennials in Their 20s

Millennials who are now in their 20s have several unbiblical beliefs that violate the divine teachings of Moses, the Hebrew prophets, Jesus Christ, and Christ’s apostles in the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament documents making up the Bible.

According to a survey of such millennials conducted by America’s Research Group (ARG) for the Answers in Genesis ministry:

More than 40% of millennials in their 20s say they aren’t born again.

35% state (falsely) the Bible has errors or they don’t know if it has errors.

Close to 90% attend or attended public school.

More than 20% left school believing the Bible was less true.

More than 45% said they were not taught to defend their faith at Sunday school.

45% say either homosexual behavior is not a sin or they don’t know if it is a sin.

40% believe same-sex couples should be allowed to marry and have legal rights, but God directly tells the Jews in Leviticus 18:1-30 that not only homosexuality, but also adultery, incest, bestiality, and child murder, are evil and despicable.

20% believe there are other books (other than the Bible) inspired by God.

65% believe (falsely) that, if you are a good person, you will go to Heaven.

“You must be born again [to enter the kingdom of God]” – Jesus, John 3:3-8. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23. “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” – Ephesians 2:8-10.
