WALKER, TEXAS RANGER actor Chuck Norris just celebrated his 84th birthday, but he feels much younger.
“You know, I’m 84 today, but I feel like I’m 48!” he said in an Instagram clip of him hitting a punching bag on Sunday. “God bless you all.”
“Feeling good and staying active!” he captioned the video. “Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes. God Bless.”
The martial arts champion received many birthday wishes from friends and fans.
Pastor Greg Laurie told him, “Happy Birthday, Chuck! You are a National treasure and a true inspiration. God bless you!”
“A veteran of the United States Air Force, Norris has a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, judo and Tang Sooo,” Fox News reported. “After being discharged from the military, Norris won a slew of titles after launching his career as a professional martial artist.”
“Norris met martial arts icon and action star Bruce Lee at a karate competition in 1964. The two struck up a friendship and began training together,” Fox News said. “Norris made his acting debut playing a small role in the 1968 spy comedy movie THE WRECKING CREW.”
At 84, THE WAY OF THE DRAGON actor is still a performer. He recently gave a glimpse of his character in his new movie and shared two photos of himself in the same stance, with a gun in each hand.
“Here’s a pretty neat parallel I thought you’d all enjoy! Almost 40 years apart,” he said. “I can’t wait for you all to see what’s in store in the upcoming film, AGENT RECON. Coming soon! God Bless, Chuck Norris.”
Movieguide® reported on AGENT RECON in December:
“I’m back in action with a new military sci-fi combat film, AGENT RECON…I’m starring alongside sci-fi icon Derek Ting (AGENT REVELATION) and Marc Singer (BEASTMASTER, V), as well as other amazing actors on our all-star team.
Deadline summarized, “Alastair (Norris), the commander of a covert Earth security task force, calls upon super-powered rookie Jim (Ting) to go on a mission led by battle-hardened Colonel Green (Singer) and his seasoned marines to track a mysterious energy disturbance at a base in New Mexico suspected of experimenting on alien technology.”
“When the team encounters an unknown being of not only extraordinary strength and speed, but also the ability to control mindless warriors, the trio must fight through unstoppable hordes to uncover the truth behind the hostile alien fortress and prevent humanity’s demise,” the summary concludes.
Norris also has another movie in the works, an action-comedy called ZOMBIE PLANE. Vanilla Ice and Australian singer Sophie Monk are also slated to star in it.
The Hollywood Reporter said in October: “ZOMBIE PLANE centers on a secret government organization that recruits celebrities to be undercover agents, who together must save humanity from an imminent zombie attack. Norris, Ice and Monk play themselves (actually, Norris plays Commander Chuck Norris, who mentored and trained Ice into becoming a deadly secret agent), but the feature is reportedly full of celebrity cameos, with a ’90s pop soundtrack including tracks by Ice himself.”
Both movies are set to release this year.
