Clint Eastwood’s Daughter Calls Him a ‘Doting’ Grandpa

Francesca Eastwood, daughter of the legendary actor Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher, loves the relationship her son has with her dad.

“I mean, just the sweetest,” she said of her father’s relationship with her 5-year-old son Titan.

Some recent Instagram photos captured their relationship as Clint held his grandson’s hand.

The 31-year-old actress also laughed about how different her dad was as a parent compared to as a grandfather.

“You know, my dad was very strict and my mom — both my parents were very strict with me when I was a kid. And it’s so lovely and sometimes bittersweet to just see how just doting and just classic grandpa and grandma to their grandson who can do no wrong,” Francesca said.

She added, “But it’s lovely.”

“They have their own relationship that I’m obviously involved in. They’re fantastic, and they’re so present,” she continued. “It’s a connection unlike anything else. And it’s definitely like the most important part of my life right now is nurturing those relationships.”

Francesca also mentioned how despite how she felt when she was a child, she now looks back and is thankful for her parents’ rules.

“At the time, I don’t know if I appreciated it that much, but looking back — they kind of dragged me around with them, and they really included me and had me visit,” she said. “That was always one of the only things that they always spoke to me like an adult about. Anything filmmaking, anything acting, whether it was watching movies or sitting behind the camera, watching them direct, sitting in hair and makeup, all this stuff.”

“It really is somewhere that I feel — I feel like it’s a home away from home, being on set no matter what, no matter what the set is,” she added. “Some are better than others but I feel like it was a huge blessing in that it opened my world to something that I really love to do, and I appreciate them [her parents] for kind of treating me like an adult in that way. At a very young age.”

The legendary actor’s other children are also grateful for how he valued his family. Movieguide® reported:

Growing up, Alison Eastwood recalled watching her father, actor Clint Eastwood, in some of Hollywood’s biggest movies.

Even so, Alison remembered that “family came first” for her mother and father.

“I remember as a kid that we wouldn’t get a lot of uninterrupted, quality family time with him in public,” Alison told Fox News in a recent interview. “People always wanted to engage with him. I guess that was my real first time noticing that people seemed only interested in him. And of course, seeing his face on the side of buses or buildings. I learned very quickly that other people’s parents weren’t garnering that same kind of attention.

“When it came time to raise a family, they felt it was important to get out of the Hollywood scene,” she said. “I’m glad they did because it was a very magical upbringing. We lived surrounded by the forest where we had baby deer, raccoons – all sorts of wildlife. And we were right on the ocean. My brother and I would just go outside and enjoy nature. I think that’s why I love animals and nature so much because I grew up in that kind of environment. It’s hard not to appreciate it on a very deep level.”
