Confirmed: FAST & FURIOUS Returns to LA for Final Movie
By Movieguide® Contributor
Following the destruction of the California wildfires, FAST & FURIOUS’s Vin Diesel confirmed that filming for FAST X: PART 2 will return the franchise to its LA roots.
“Last week, during the fires that displaced LA…my sister Jordana reached out to me and said…Please have Universal film the rest of FAST X PART 2 in LA,” Diesel wrote on Instagram along with a photo of him and co-star Jordana Brewster. “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever…Los Angeles is where FAST AND FURIOUS started filming 25 years ago… and now FAST will finally return home. All love…”
FAST X: PART 2 will be the franchise’s final victory lap, celebrating more than 20 years of racing.

Diesel gave an update on the movie’s progress last February.
“Just finished our end of the week FAST meeting with the writers and the whole team to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting,” he wrote.
“While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all…reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey,” he continued. “Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution…as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.”
“Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen,” Diesel concluded. “This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”
A date for FAST X: PART 2 isn’t confirmed yet, but Diesel teased a March 2026 release last November.
The FAST & FURIOUS films are packed with thrills, excitement and strong moral worldviews:
FAST X contains some impressive action sequences. The chase sequence involving the bomb headed to Vatican City is very exciting. FAST X increases the personal stakes in the franchise by having the villain target Dom’s son. Cleverly, the filmmakers link Dom’s protection of his son with overt references to faith and Jesus. The movie promotes family, honor and sacrifice. FAST X has significantly less foul language than recent FAST & FURIOUS movies, but it’s still slightly excessive. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution.
