Singer-songwriter DaniLeigh celebrated her baptism on Instagram, taking a significant step forward in her walk with the Lord and commemorating a special day.

“The day my father was born is now the day my mom and I are reborn,” the singer wrote over a video of the moment. “Thank you, Jesus for opening your doors of heaven to my daddy, there’s no way I couldn’t publicly claim you and share how great you are!! The way Baptisms Sunday fell on my dad’s bday it couldn’t have been more Perfect! I love you daddy and I know you are proud of your family!”

DaniLeigh lost her father to cancer in October 2024, an event in her life that challenged her to find her faith again.

“God I am SO GRATEFUL, never in my life would I believe you if you told me I was okay and at peace with my father passing. my dad?? No wayyyy!! If you knew us, that bond we had was unlike no other…” DaniLeigh wrote on Instagram last October. “I was so blessed to have such a present hardworking loving dad! There isn’t a person in this world that could say they didn’t like my dad, GOALS!! To know him was to love him. I inspire to be that way. He was so pure.”

“The incredible stories about his passing only proves that God needed him in heaven to watch over us,” she added. “He knew we have been slowly growing our relationship with God, but this moment SAVED us. I can’t wait to share this testimony and my dad’s story so others can be saved as well.”

Relevant Magazine reported that DaniLeigh got her start as a dancer, working with names like Pharrell Williams and Nelly Furtado. Catching the eye of Prince, he mentored the young artist and had her direct one of his music videos when she was just 18.

Over the last year, DaniLeigh has found her faith in God. Through her relationship with God, she has started to see herself the way He does.

“I haven’t felt like I’ve loved myself in probably the last four or five years,” she said in a video with 9 Mag TV, “but when you really start to love God, you start to see the beauty in yourself. When I tell you I feel so much prettier, like I feel the glow, and it’s all because I’ve been serving at church. I’ve been going to Bible study every week, going to church every Sunday, tithing — just showing a lot of discipline and growing the relationship.”

“It’s been so refreshing, especially during this time, losing my dad and everything,” she continued. “I’m really grateful that I’ve gained this relationship because it feels really, really good. I just wanted to encourage you guys to try your best to grow your relationship with Him.”
