Dave and Jenny Marrs Celebrate Emmy Loss: ‘I’m So Proud’
By Movieguide® Contributor
FIXER TO FABULOUS stars Dave and Jenny Marrs decided to celebrate their Emmy nomination even though they fell short of the award.
Per Country Living, “FIXER TO FABULOUS was nominated for Best Instructional/How-To Program alongside FIXER UPPER: THE HOTEL, MARTHA GARDENS, WINDY CITY REHAB, and HACK MY HOME. The pair left their home in Bentonville, Arkansas, and traveled to Los Angeles for the Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony on June 7.”
Jenny took to her Instagram to express their feelings on the nomination.
“Well that was fun! After a lot of years of a lot of hard work, it’s nice to sit back and celebrate every once in a while,” she wrote. “We didn’t win the trophy but we were in the room with the two who have been there since day one (our amazing producers at @rivrmedia) and we were representing an entire team back home who have worked alongside us all these years to create a show that we can all be proud of. And, that’s pretty great in and of itself. I’m so proud of our team and all we have accomplished together!!”
Many of Jenny’s fans commented on her post to express how beautiful she looked and offer their congratulations.
“You both represent our Bentonville town so well wherever you go. I’m proud to call y’all ‘my Jenny and Dave.’ Congratulations on your nomination, and being the most classy looking couple at the show,” one follower wrote.
“Emmy or not, you’re truly a winner in so many people’s eyes!! We love you and DaveMarrs! Both of you look gorgeous,” someone else commented.
Fellow HGTV star, Ty Pennington, commented, “Nice!!”
Jenny announced their nomination in April, reflecting on how God orchestrated FIXER TO FABULOUS.
“Eight years ago, we welcomed two camera operators, a sound guy, a producer and a production assistant into our home and into our lives for two days,” she wrote. “I prayed simply, ‘Lord, if this is what you want for us to do, if this will bring you glory, if we can use this opportunity to shine a light into this dark world, then let it happen. If this isn’t in your plans for us, if this is against your will, then slam the door shut.'”
She’s grateful “the door stayed open” and for the team God brought to support them.
“It’s mostly just a chance to celebrate our peeps,” Jenny said of their Emmy nomination. ” FIXER TO FABULOUS couldn’t happen without our small-but-mighty team behind the cameras, on the construction sites, and in the edit bay.”
