Jenny and Dave Marrs just renewed their marriage vows after two decades of being together.
“You’re surrounded by your legacy,” Jenny quoted in a video of the ceremony, with her kids standing around her and Dave. “This moment was, for me, the most sacred and special part of our vow renewal ceremony, and I’ll forever treasure this memory.”
The Marrses “unexpectedly lost someone very dear to [their] family” a few days before the ceremony.
Jenny said she “considered rescheduling” the celebration but kept it because God “knew we could hold it all — sorrow and joy.”
“We remembered the two giddy kids who vowed to love one another through both the hard and happy times twenty years ago,” she said.
She continued, reflecting on God’s part in her marriage and family throughout the years.
“We remembered all that God has done for us and through us over the past two decades. We remembered His immense blessings and we renewed our sacred vows from a place of gratitude for time-weathered and life-tested steadfast love And, we celebrated,” she said.
“We laughed with and hugged our people,” she said. “We looked around at our tribe and thanked them for walking alongside us in this life. This life can be so hard and so beautiful and I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone other than Dave Marrs by my side.”
Two years ago, the family visited Paris, where Dave proposed to Jenny years earlier. Dave also gave her a new wedding band for their anniversary.

“[Charlotte] asked if we can have another wedding so she can be the flower girl because it has apparently ‘always been her dream to be a flower girl,’” Jenny said at the time. “So, yes. We will have another celebration on our 20th anniversary of saying yes to this life together.”
She kept her word — and chose to “celebrate and remember,” despite experiencing searing loss.
“God instructs us to ‘Celebrate and Remember’ in the 13th chapter of Exodus, and that’s what we did last night,” Jenny said.
Jenny also made a 20th anniversary post and shared a video from their “windy” wedding.
“Together, we have adventured and laughed and worked and loved,” she wrote. “Together. Always, together. I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side. Happy 20th anniversary, my love.”
Dave also made a post, sharing photos of Jenny with him and their five kids.
“20 years together today! Happy anniversary to the best partner a guy could ever ask for @jennymarrs,” Dave wrote. “I have no idea what the next 20 years has in store for us, but I can’t wait to experience it with you. I love you!”
What a touching tribute!
