Two years after her life-threatening overdose, Demi Lovato called July 24 her “Miracle day.”
“Today is my miracle day. I’m so blessed to have one,” Lovato shared.
“Things that used to keep me down for weeks or even months, pass like tropical storms because my relationship with God has provided me with infinite security,” she said. “Thank you God for this peace and understanding but most of all giving me the strength to fight through my darkest times.”
The 27-year-old singer also reflected on her life and where she is now.
“How my life has become something beyond my wildest dreams. Only 2 years after that terrible day, I’m engaged to the love of my life, and I can genuinely say I feel free of my demons. Each and every one. I never thought this feeling was possible.”
She continued, “Long before I had an engagement ring on my finger, I had the word ‘me’ to remind myself that no matter what, I vow to love myself. You can’t fully love another without loving yourself first.”

Movieguide® previously reported how Lovato told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe how she was focusing on her relationship with the Lord.
During the interview, she said her new manager, Scooter Braun, helped her start going to church again.
“He was like, ‘Hey do you want to go to a Bible study?’ And I was like, ‘Wait aren’t you Jewish?’” She said as she laughed.
“If it’s going to help you, let’s go,” she recalled him saying.
“He took me there and I had heard God clearer than I had heard him in a long time. I need to focus on myself and my relationship with myself and my relationship with God,” said Lovato.
Lovato recently got engaged to Max Ehrich.
“You are the most beautiful inside and out in the entire world & I couldn’t be more grateful God brought us together,” Ehrich said in the engagement announcement.
