Actor and musician Dennis Quaid will host Fox Nation’s newest series, TOP COMBAT PILOT, which will air in November.
“The four-part series, set in Yuma, Ariz., will offer an inside look at the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course, America’s most elite aviation program and the Marines’ version of the Navy’s famed ‘Top Gun school,'” Fox News reported.
“Following 25 of the best combat pilots from every squadron in the country, viewers will watch as they train in an unrivaled air fleet, including F-18 Hornets and Huey and Cobra combat helicopters. The top performers will seek to distinguish themselves as the best of the best and be invited back as a WTI (Weapons and Tactics) instructor,” Fox added.
Fox Nation President, Jason Klarman, also stated, “Dennis Quaid not only played a pilot in the iconic movie THE RIGHT STUFF, but he is also a licensed pilot — we couldn’t think of a better person to host this series.”
“The first episode, titled ‘The Elite of the Elite,’ will plunge viewers into WTI’s intense 7-week training program, as the combat pilots fight to prove they are at the top of their game. The second installment, titled ‘Stick the Landing,’ continues WTI training as Cobra combat pilots ‘battle a Russian combat helicopter straight out of Hollywood,’ while the Huey students are put to the test as they attempt to ‘insert Navy Seals at an embassy while contending with an angry mob.’” The Wrap reported of the new series.
The series will premiere on Nov. 6 on Fox Nation’s streaming platform.
Most recently, Quaid, a Movieguide® award nominee, has been considered for two Grammy awards: Best Gospel Performance/Song and Best Roots Gospel Album, both stem from his new album, “Fallen: A Gospel Record for Sinners.
Movieguide® recently reported on Quaid:
Laurie, the inspiration for the hit movie JESUS REVOLUTION, asked Quaid about his journey of faith and what inspired him to write the album.
“That’s the thing about being a Christian,” Quaid said. “Jesus is there, and you really have a personal relationship with him, which took me a long time to actually figure out.” Jesus took our sin on him, and “it’s like a clean slate that you start from that moment,” the actor explained.
“I think that’s what Christianity has got going for it compared to the other great religions of the world is that it’s a personal relationship with God,” Quaid said.
Laurie praised Quaid for his boldness to speak the Gospel in a typically godless place like Hollywood.
Quaid said he had to get past “embarrassment” and the fact that he offends people because of his faith, explaining, “I am who I am and…Jesus told us to go out and spread this out, you know. It’s called ‘the good news.’”
