Dolly Parton Expands Boxed Baking Mixes Line: ‘All My Favorites’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Dolly Parton just expanded her cake and baked good mixes line.

The “9 to 5” singer teamed up with Conagra Brands, who own Duncan Hines, and the country star will release five new products in addition to her already available boxed mixes.

The new products will include Yellow Cake Mix, Chocolate Cake Mix, Cinnamon Crumb Cake Mix, Banana Nut Muffin Mix and Blueberry Muffin Mix.

“They’re like having kids,” Parton said of the mixes. “They’re all my favorites. It just depends on the time of day and what kind of mood I’m in and what my tastes are calling for.”

Parton will expand beyond baked goods, though. A buttermilk pancake mix, Dolly’s version, will release later this winter. There are also plans to release frozen items this year.

“From breakfast to dinner and all things in between, there is a Dolly Parton product to satisfy whatever you’ve got a hankering for. Cake mixes, biscuit mix, frozen meals, and more—you’re sure to find something delicious for every part of the day,” her website says.

“I’ve been cooking all my life, being brought up in the country and a big family, and as one of the older girls, so I know how to cook,” she shared with PEOPLE. “I have to sometimes really concentrate on that baking, but I do enjoy it when I’m doing it.”

She also said that to make baking easier, “it’s good to have things in a box that you can read and make sure you don’t mess up too much!”

“I loved co-creating my Duncan Hines line with Conagra and I’m thrilled we’re going well beyond the baking aisle with new items across the store,” Parton said in a press release. “We’re looking to continue to inspire special moments in the kitchen, with some of my family’s favorite recipes, and I think people are really going to love them!”

“This unprecedented partnership with Dolly Parton gives us an incredible opportunity to further cement Conagra Brands in our established categories, while authentically positioning us for tremendous growth in new ones including Southern cooking and comfort food,” Conagra Brands Chief Operating Officer Tom McGough said.

Movieguide® previously reported on Parton:

Dolly Parton has gone from the poorest of poor to the heights of fame, but one thing that hasn’t changed throughout her achievements is her reliance on God.

Born to a large sharecropping family in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains, Parton had little given to her to set her up for worldwide success. However, throughout her childhood, she found faith in God, learned the importance of hard work and discovered her passion for music.

“We Partons sang in church and played our own instruments too. My uncle gave me a guitar when I was eight. I strummed it till my fingernails cracked,” Parton said. “I learned to play fiddle, like most everyone in my family did. More and more, music felt like that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It became my first big dream, and naturally I asked God if I was on the right track and if He would help, to make this dream ours together.”
