MeTV Toons, a channel dedicated to classic cartoons, is going all out for Thanksgiving, airing some beloved classics for audiences of all ages to enjoy.
“On Thanksgiving Day this year (Nov. 28, 2024), they will be airing a marathon with over almost 100 back-to-back shorts called RABBITS, DUCKS & NO TURKEYS, featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. ET. With classic faves like BEANSTALK BUNNY, RABBIT HOOD, ROBIN HOOD DAFFY and THE WINDBLOWN HARE,” Remind Magazine reported.
On Black Friday, the network will air nearly 100 black-and-white classics that will begin at 8 a.m. ET. The segment will be titled BLACK (& WHITE) FRIDAY and will include classics such as Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Popeye and Betty Boop.
MeTV Toons is already in the Christmas Spirit. Every Saturday since Nov. 2, the network airs festive Christmas-themed cartoons.
“MeTV Toons is bringing the holiday spirit this weekend with ‘Tis the Season for Toons! ☃️This Saturday starting at 4P | 3C, join us for A VERY BUGS BUNNY CHRISTMAS which includes BUGS BUNNY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL and THE FRIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,” they posted last Friday.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, they’ll air THE ADVENTURES OF ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE’s “‘Topsy Turvy World’ episodes where the earth turns to its side and a tropical island becomes the new North Pole; Boris and Natasha dress up as Santa and an elf and use their disguises to rob people.”
MeTV Toons launched earlier this year in an effort to bring back classic cartoons to modern viewers.
“MeTV Toons, which launches June 25, is a collab between Weigel and Warner Bros. Discovery, which has licensed content featuring its animated characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry, George Jetson, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, Popeye, Johnny Quest and Fred Flintstone. (MeTV already airs a daily program, TOON IN WITH ME, which features a heavy emphasis on Warner bros. animated fare),” Variety reported.
