Dr. David Jeremiah and Turning Point Ministries Explore the Nativity in Upcoming Movie

Dr. David Jeremiah and Turning Point Ministries’ new feature-length movie WHY THE NATIVITY? explores and answers questions surrounding the birth of Christ and will premiere on November 18.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to bring the true story of Christmas to the world’s stage in an unprecedented and unparalleled fashion,” said Jeremiah.
Based on Jeremiah’s book, Why the Nativity? 25 Compelling Reasons We Celebrate the Birth of Jesus, this docudrama draws on the Old and New Testaments to explore God’s work in every aspect of the Christmas story.
Through reenactments including the Old Testament prophets foretelling Christ’s birth, Gabriel appearing to Mary, Mary and Joseph’s arrival in Bethlehem, the Wisemen following the star, and Jesus’ birth, this movie “provides answers to some of the most thought-provoking questions surrounding the most pivotal moment in human history—the birth of Jesus Christ.”
“From its inception, this unique production has been designed to be shared with the whole world, for everyone from all walks of life,” Jeremiah said.
“We pray it becomes an instant Christmas classic with the longevity to reach new audiences with the timeless Gospel message for generations to come,” he continued. “And I’m confident this unforgettable journey through film will help the hope of Christmas jump out of the pages of the Bible.”
Paul Joiner, Turning Point Ministries chief creative officer and this movie’s director and executive producer, shared his thoughts on WHY THE NATIVITY? and the impact he hopes it will have.
“It’s about evangelism,” said Joiner. “People are open to hearing the Christmas story, so what an opportunity it is for us to say that Christmas is more than just the fun, food, and fellowship––it is about the salvation story. The gospel.”
“I believe the Christmas story is probably the most evangelistic message that one can bring to the world,” he added. “We often forget that Christmas is not about the pomp and circumstance; it’s about the best story that could ever be told.”
WHY THE NATIVITY? will premiere at Regal LA Live Theater in Los Angeles on November 18 and at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. on December 2.
The movie will be available to stream for free at Dr. Jeremiah’s website beginning November 24.
