Drew Baldridge’s ‘She’s Somebody’s Daughter’ Inspires Wholesome TikTok Trend

Country singer Drew Baldridge has inspired a wholesome TikTok trend with his song “She’s Somebody’s Daughter,” which he wrote five years ago.
Baldridge knew from the beginning that the song would be a hit. He wrote it “as a message to himself and as a reminder that every girl is someone’s friend and daughter.” However, with the start of the pandemic, “She’s Somebody’s Daughter” disappeared from the music scene.
PEOPLE reported, “The pandemic hit in 2020 and Baldridge found himself without a label, and therefore, no home for the song with all the potential. In another space and time, that could have been the end of the story of ‘She’s Somebody’s Daughter.’ And Baldridge would have just shrugged his shoulders.”
However, with his faith firmly placed in God, his song eventually launched his career after it went viral in 2021. He also released a music video that featured footage from his wedding.
“It’s really taken our career and lifted it to a whole other stratosphere,” Baldridge said of his song. “You know, I don’t have a record label right now. I don’t have a big team per se. Everything that has been happening as of late has all been organic. It’s happened because people have been loving this song and that’s really so cool.”
The song is now in the Top 40 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts and has over 500 million social media impressions and streams.
Many videos featuring the song include sweet stories of parents celebrating their daughters.
“I’ve been alone just kind of doing it myself and, you know, throwing up some big prayers myself,” Baldridge said of his success.
The singer has not signed with a record label since 2019 and has now created his own label called Lyric Ridge Records.
“I just try to make music for people’s souls,” he said. “I try to create music that I hope that God wants me to create that will have an impact. I used to pray that God would let me make music that means something and that somebody needs.”
