Drew and Jonathan Scott Help Change Families’ Lives on CELEBRITY IOU: ‘Heartwarming’

PROPERTY BROTHERS’ Drew and Jonathan Scott are sharing their favorite moments of Season 7 of CELEBRITY IOU.

“It’s hard to pick just one [favorite episode] because there’s so much connection,” Drew said of the show, which sees celebrities help provide home renovations for people who have impacted their lives.

Drew pointed to an episode featuring Sterling K. Brown and the THIS IS US actor’s former nanny as one that stood out to him.

“To see that she was struggling — she has her four kids, plus her grandchild, but she was told by the city, by the courts, that she’s not allowed to adopt her grandchild until she has a house that will fit the family for them all to live in,” Drew explained. “She was searching and searching with how expensive [Los Angeles] is, and she just couldn’t afford [anything], so she finally found a home, but she spent every penny on getting the place, and she wasn’t able to actually renovate it.”

He continued, “It’s that critical moment of what we’re doing to help these families transform their lives. It’s pretty heartwarming.”

Jonathan’s pick? Their episode with Regina Hall.

“[Regina] was giving back to Vonda, whose daughter has sickle cell anemia and suffers from really bad respiratory issues and illness,” he said. “It turns out that their house not only did not have air conditioning, but the heating system in there, it was so old and absolutely unhealthy — it was pumping around really, really dirty air throughout the house.”

Jonathan continued, “That episode got really, really emotional, especially for the reveal because you’re transforming these recipients’ lives. This is a huge thing.”

Hall talked about her relationship with Vonda, revealing that they met on the set of REAL HUSBANDS OF HOLLYWOOD.

“I think she was the head of the makeup department at that time on the show. And then from there, we just stayed in each other’s lives whether we worked together or not,” she continued. “I think it’s special when you know someone well and things are going on in your life that you can talk to someone and you know that it’s gonna be private. I have that with Vonda. Vonda has that with me.”

Fran Drescher has also spoken about her experience giving back on CELEBRITY IOU.

“There is your biological family and then there’s your logical family, and I think that they’re my logical family,” she said of Angelica and Roman, her longtime housekeepers. “They’re just such wonderful people, and it’s just such a great gift.”
