Dude Perfect’s Future Plans Include Family Experiences

Tyler Toney, Cory Cotton, Coby Cotton, Garret Hilbert and Cody Jones had no idea where they would end up when they started Dude Perfect 15 years ago. Now, they are looking to leave a legacy of family fun.

“We started 15 years ago in our backyard in College Station making trick shots, and we have been making content ever since,” Toney said. “We had no intention of starting a brand or a business or anything like that, and over the years, it’s turned into something way bigger than any of us ever imagined that it would.”

With numerous once-in-a-lifetime opportunities under their belts, Dude Perfect is now turning to their fans to get them involved in more of the fun. In 2022, they announced plans for a Dude Perfect Entertainment Destination where fans could try their hands at some of the group’s most iconic trick shots.

“We’ve had some really good meetings recently on our big destination where families would be able to come and experience a lot of Dude Perfect things they’ve watched in videos and they’ve seen us do over the years, but they’d be able to actually try them in person,” Toney explained.

“We have made some good progress on that in the last month and are really excited to continue that project, which has just turned out to be much longer and much more work-intensive than any of us ever thought it would be,” he continued. “It’s something that we’ve been working on for a long time, and we wanna make sure we get it right before we rush something out there.”

“While we’ve had a lot of fun, and people get to watch us have fun, we want to create ways for families who watch to experience that fun together,” Coby added. “So, internally, we’ve been calling it Dude Perfect 2.0, but we want this next 15 years of Dude Perfect to be creating things that families can truly have the same types of feelings that we’ve had while we’ve been able to do these fun things.”

Dude Perfect is also moving its headquarters to a larger space. They’ve been in their current location for roughly seven years but wanted someplace bigger so they could shoot even crazier videos and also have a landing ground for fans who want to come and visit.

“There’ll be some additional sporting courts, I guess, some putt-putt, of course, basketball, pickleball will be there, a more well thought out studio design space and how other people can even utilize that,” Toney said.

“Coby mentioned a retail space for people to come and be able to actually purchase things because even now, here, we just don’t have anything that’s designed or open to the public, which is unfortunate,” he continued. “They just stand outside and take a really bad picture of the sign way too up high. So we’re excited about that to have at least a small place for them to come and visit.”

The group recently received a $100 million investment from Highmount Capital to help them continue producing family-focused content.

“The mission of Dude Perfect is to serve families with the most trusted entertainment on earth,” Coby told Deadline. “By partnering with Highmount Capital, we hope to pour gas on the fire and take the Dude Perfect fun that families have witnessed on screens these past 15 years and turn it into real-life products and memory-making experiences they can actually touch and feel for themselves.”

The guys of Dude Perfect are using their faith to guide them as they build their brand.

“People come up to us on the street all the time and say, ‘Hey, you’re the only channel we let our kids watch,’ And we take that seriously,” member Cory Cotton told Forbes. “We understand that it’s hard sometimes for a parent to pre-watch everything that goes in front of their kids.”

This dedication to making family-friendly content also steered Dude Perfect away from partnering with alcohol brands.

“We never made the intentional decision of like — Hey, we’re not going to film with alcoholic brands,” Garrett Hilbert said. “That’s just who we were — It’s not something we partook in college.
