Jalen Hurts and several of his Eagles teammates brought their new Super Bowl trophy to the set of ABBOTT ELEMENTARY.
“A couple of Eagles [players] came to our set and brought the trophy,” William Stanford Davis, who plays Mr. Johnson on the show, told PEOPLE. “We got a chance to rub it. It was nice.”
Lisa Ann Walter (who plays Melissa Schemmenti) added, “I may or may not have a picture with the Lombardi Trophy.”
“I have to tell you, the trophy was great and it’s not as heavy as the SAG Award,” she continued. “I was getting ready for it to be like ugh, ‘cause the SAG Award is like a workout, but this was very lightweight. It’s sort of puffy and hollow like me.”
ABBOTT ELEMENTARY is a “a workplace comedy centered on a group of dedicated teachers — and an oblivious principal — in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life.”
The show’s Philadelphia setting made it the perfect crossover for the Eagles, and some of the team even cameoed last season.
“So far, we haven’t heard anything,” Davis said, explaining that he doesn’t know if the players will appear on the show again. “I couldn’t tell you if I did know, but you never know.”
