Employees Dressed as Power Rangers Defend Woman from Attacker

Employees of Noka, a restaurant in California’s Bay Area, “morphed” into action while dressed in Power Rangers costumes after someone began choking a woman.
Another customer, who witnessed the employee’s heroic act, documented the events via Twitter.
“The craziest thing just happened at dinner. I’m at a ramen shop owned by Thai people in Oakland dressed as power rangers, when a woman comes rushing in saying she wasn’t safe—and a man came running in after her and puts her in a chokehold,” Ploi Pirapoken wrote on Twitter.
“When something surprising breaks out, you’re not sure it’s real,” Pirapoken later told KGO, according to ABC7.
According to Pirapoken’s account, a man chased a woman into a Thai-owned restaurant, and proceeded to strangle the woman. That is when the employees of the restaurant, who were dressed as the classic ’90s TV heroes, decided to step in.
A server dressed as the Yellow Ranger pulled the man out of the restaurant. The rest of the Rangers and some customers held the man down until the police arrived.
ABC7 reported:
Pirapoken said the man even began shouting anti-Asian slurs, and the Yellow Ranger dragged him out of the restaurant by the collar.
Outside, the attacker then starts “picking up chairs, baby seats & salt + pepper shakers to throw at the windows.” The Rangers ended up piling onto the man until police showed up, Pirapoken said.
Oakland Police confirm to KGO that they detained the man, believing he was undergoing a mental health crisis, and transported him for medical attention.
