Erin Krakow: Fans Are ‘In For a Treat’ With WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 11

WHEN CALLS THE HEART’s Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry are giving fans some hints about the upcoming season’s romance plot line.

“It’s always nice working with Kevin,” Krakow said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Krakow plays Elizabeth in the popular Hallmark series. The upcoming eleventh season is going to explore her relationship with Nathan, played by McGarry.

“It’s really lovely to get to tell this story and kind of give that back to all the Kevin fans and the Nathan fans,” Krakow continued. “They’re in for a treat in Season 11.”

McGarry added, “I have always liked Elizabeth and Nathan as a couple. I think Nathan was created for Elizabeth…he was meant to kind of just wander while she was going on a journey. I think it was always meant to be this and that they were meant to be endgame.”

Both actors stressed that the romance won’t happen right away.

“Nothing is official. I think that would feel way too soon,” Krakow explained. “We do want to be respectful of the fact that Elizabeth and Lucas (Chris McNally) had a very real and loving relationship. It just wasn’t, as it turns out, meant to be Elizabeth’s lifetime or Lucas’, so we are being respectful of that.”

She added, “They’re waiting for their right moment. And, of course, there are things that come up along the way to interrupt that. But yeah, it’s a slow burn. We’re taking our time… the first time Elizabeth and Nathan see each other [after the split], you do feel that sparks are flying. But even though those sparks are flying, they still are taking their time.”

Krakow has also reassured fans that just because Elizabeth and Lucas are no longer together, it doesn’t mean McNally will be leaving WHEN CALLS THE HEART.

“We’re not gonna lose Chris McNally,” she told TVInsider. “I mean, he’s fantastic. I can’t imagine that. Our show just grew and changed when we brought in Kevin and Chris.”

Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth, has also spoken about the upcoming season of WHEN CALLS THE HEART.

“Time has flown by since the end of season 10 and I cannot put into words how thrilled I am for the premiere of Season 11 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART,” she said. “It’s such a warm feeling to know that we have the loyalty, love, and longevity to make it this far and that is a true testament to our viewers.”

I cannot wait for viewers to tune in to this season and to continue on this journey with all of us! Season 11 delivers more heart than ever before!”

Lisa Hamilton Daly, Hallmark’s Executive Vice President of Programming, also spoke about the success of WHEN CALLS THE HEART.

“If there’s anything we can take away from the success of WHEN CALLS THE HEART, it’s that these stories, these characters, and essentially their lives, is that they resonate and they matter deeply to so many of our viewers,” Daly said. “Eleven seasons is a celebration of the kind of heartwarming content that we strive to bring to the fans every year.”
